Founded in January 2019, DTB Avocats inc. was born of a gamble: to create a human-sized law firm, rooted in the diversity of Montreal, capable of offering quality services at affordable rates, without ever sacrificing rigor. Its two co-founders, Me Aminata Ba and Me Mariama Diallo, each had less than two years’ practice under their belts when they opened their doors at 5845 Côte-des-Neiges – one of Canada’s most cosmopolitan neighborhoods.
Six years later, the firm has considerably expanded its team, welcoming Me Bushra Rahman, Me Zeina Bshara, Me Mastura Laila MIM and Me Veronica Jane Bertiz, and has consolidated itself as a benchmark in its four practice areas: immigration, business law, civil and commercial litigation and mediation.
An approach based on access to justice
What sets DTB Avocats apart is both its model and its philosophy. The firm systematically adopts a personalized approach, taking the time to understand the specific realities of each customer – whether business, family, cultural or economic. It is a signatory to the principle of participatory justice: prior to any dispute, the firm helps its customers to identify the dispute resolution method best suited to their needs and resources.
In immigration law, DTB Avocats assists international students, temporary and skilled workers, business people, applicants for permanent residence and citizenship, and families with their sponsorship. The firm also regularly appears before the Federal Court of Canada.
In business law, he advises on the creation, management, restructuring and dissolution of companies, mergers and acquisitions, financing and shareholder agreements. In litigation, he appears before the Superior Court and the Court of Québec, both as plaintiff and defendant.

Awards and commitments
The firm is recognized for the commitment of its female lawyers to the legal and civil community. In 2024, the Bar of Montreal honored Me Aminata Ba as a “Figure de Maître”, underlining her leadership role within the legal community. Mariama Diallo sits on the Quebec Bar Foundation’s Board of Governors, contributing to the development of the next generation of lawyers.
Both partners are members of AQAADI, the International Conference of Bar Associations, and maintain an active Pro Bono commitment to Montreal’s ethnocultural communities.
