Veronica Jane Bertiz (siya/she/elle) is a 1.5-year-old Philippine-born immigrant to the unceded land of Tiotia:ke, colonially known as Montreal. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in political science and a double minor in human rights and law and society at Concordia University. She also holds a diploma in paralegal techniques from O’Sullivan College. In addition to her 9-5 job, she co-founded the non-profit Centre Kapwa, which supports the mental health and well-being of Filipino youth and families through art, movement and conversation. Every Wednesday from 9am to 5pm, she co-hosts Radyo Kapwa on CKUT 90.3 FM, highlighting the diversity of Filipinos in the diaspora, while broadcasting her podcast Everything’s Political every first Wednesday of the month.
